Learn how to update your cost center settings so that your time and attendance recommendations reflect your standard shifts and grace settings.
How is this configured?
During the initial implementation phase, Laudio works with your organization's HR and operations team to upload standard shifts and grace periods. However, at some organizations these standard shifts can differ between location and even department/unit.
As you are starting to use the Laudio platform, it's important to check your Cost Center Settings so that your account is configured correctly. If you are receiving Time and attendance notifications that you feel are not correct, you likely need to adjust your grace period settings to better match your unit.
When time and attendance policies change at your organization, remember to change them in your Laudio account. This will ensure that time and attendance recommendations are accurate and reflective of your particular team's policies.
How to adjust your settings
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Managed Cost Centers
- Select the cost center you'd like to manage
- Review the current settings - notice there are three sections (Shifts, Scheduling & Pay Period and Floating) and edit them as needed.
Think of grace periods as how many minutes an employee can clock in or out before being penalized.
For example, for a shift starting at 0700, employees can clock in as early as 0640, but no later than 0653 and leave without penalty near the end of their shift, but by 1930 to not accrue overtime.
In this example, the early clock in grace is 20 (20 min prior to shift start) and late clock in grace is 7 (the time at which employee will be flagged late). The early clock out grace could be 60 (enough time to not flag in Laudio as leaving early given there is no penalty) and late clock out grace would be 30 (30 min after shift end).
