Updating your cost center settings ensures that time and attendance recommendations in Laudio reflect your team’s standard shifts and grace period policies.
How Cost Center Settings Are Configured
During implementation, Laudio works with your organization’s HR and Operations teams to upload standard shifts and grace periods. In some health systems, these settings may differ by location, department, or unit.
When time and attendance policies change within your organization, update them in Laudio to ensure recommendations remain accurate and reflect your team’s policies.

Understanding Grace Periods
Grace periods define how many minutes before or after a shift an employee can clock in or out without being flagged or penalized.
Example:
-
A shift is scheduled to start at 07:00.
-
Early clock-in grace: 20 minutes (employees can clock in starting at 06:40).
-
Late clock-in grace: 7 minutes (employees clocking in at 06:53 or later are flagged late).
-
Early clock-out grace: 60 minutes (leaving up to an hour early won’t be flagged as early in Laudio if no penalty applies).
-
Late clock-out grace: 30 minutes (employees can stay until 19:30 before being flagged for overtime).

Notes
- As you begin using Laudio, review your cost center settings to confirm they are configured correctly. If time and attendance notifications appear inaccurate, adjusting the grace period settings for your unit usually resolves the issue.
