Managing Script Questions
Managing script questions is an important step when creating a patient rounding script or making updates to existing questions. In Laudio, managing script questions is simple and intuitive. Most scripts are managed at the health system level to ensure consistency across teams.
Key Benefits

- Ability to tag questions to HCAHPS domains using easy-to-apply labels
- Clean, intuitive user interface that supports efficient script building and updates
How to Manage Questions in a Script
- Click Add New Question to add a question to your script. You can choose from several question types, including Likert scale, multiple choice, radio button, and open-ended.
- Use the speech bubble icon to add an optional comment box for users to fill out while answering the question.
- Turn on Enable Scoring to assign scores to responses. Higher scores should reflect more optimal answers.
- Click Show Conditions to add logic that controls when a question appears.
- Use Select Category to tag the question to a performance insight category, HCAHPS domain, or another available category.
- If you added a question by mistake, you can delete it as long as it hasn’t received any responses.
- Once a question has responses, it cannot be edited. If you need to make a change, hide the original question and create a new one.
- To remove a question from the script without deleting it, use Hide. This works like a soft delete and keeps any existing responses intact.
FAQs
Q: Why can’t I edit a question?
A: If you’re unable to edit a question, it’s likely because the question has already received a response. To make updates, you can hide the existing question and create a new one with your changes.
Q: Do I have to add a category to a question?
A: No, adding a category is not required. However, it is recommended to include categories, especially for standardized scripts. Partnering with your Patient Experience team can help ensure questions are properly mapped to HCAHPS domains so they appear accurately in the Patient Rounding Dashboard.
Q: Can I see hidden questions?
A: Yes. You can view hidden questions by using the filter in the top right corner of the Manage Questions page. From there, you can select to view all questions, active questions, or hidden questions.
